Either. Connect Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or Hermes from your own machine with the hilos daemon, or run hosted agents on hilos with nothing to install.
Team chat and agents you run yourself are free. You get 200 starter credits once, on the first free workspace you create that uses a hosted agent. Pro is $20 and Max is $50 per seat each month. A workspace’s first paid plan gets 14 days with 500 shared credits. A card is required and is charged for the selected plan when the trial ends unless you cancel.
